博多駅から徒歩11分、中洲川端駅から徒歩8分の場所にあるホステル「THE GATE hostel」に宿泊しました。2018年7月にオープンしたばかりの新しい簡易宿泊施設です。
2018年12月の平日に予約したところ、1泊1,480円という破格で予約できました。博多周辺のホステルの中では最安値でした。
中洲川端駅から徒歩8分の格安ホステル「THE GATE hostel」
THE GATE hostelは最寄り駅の中洲川端駅から徒歩8分ほど離れた住宅街にあるホステル。駅からも歩いていける距離ですが、荷物を持っていると少し遠く感じました。1Fはカフェ&バーになっていて宿泊者以外も利用できます。
1Fは人が多すぎたので公式画像をお借りします。
奥に進むとレセプション（受付）があり、ここでチェックイン手続きを行います。スタッフが部屋のベッドまで案内してくれたのが好印象でした。荷物の預かりはチェックイン前なら無料で預かってくれます。
カフェ&バーでは花札が通貨として使用され、1,000円で花札6枚と交換出来るシステム。注文の際はメニューに記載された枚数と交換します。
チェックイン時に部屋やロッカーの暗証番号などが書かれた紙を渡されます。裏面にはイラストで各階のガイドが記載されています。
ドライヤー、耳栓、シャンプーとボディーソープ、レンタル充電器などは無料で使えますが、アメニティ類は基本的に有料です。
歯ブラシは50円、レンタルタオルは100円、レンタル自転車は300円/6h、500円/24hです。少しでも節約したい方は必要に応じて自分で用意しておきましょう。
ベッドルームは広くて快適
ベッドルームは二段ベッドのうちの下段が割り当てられました。
木のぬくもりを感じられる広めのベッドルームは布団も柔らかく寝心地が良かったです。
シーツと枕カバーは自分で敷く必要があるため少々面倒くさい。
身長168cm、体重60kgの成人男性が眠るとこれくらいの広さ。寝返りを打ってもまだ余裕のあるサイズで快適に眠れます。高さも他のドミトリーと比べて広めに確保されているので窮屈さを感じさせにくい作りでした。
遮光カーテンで外に光が漏れず、最低限のプライバシーは確保されています。
枕元には明るい白熱灯と空きコンセントが2つ。電源プラグによっては干渉して2つ同時に使用できないかもしれません。
ベッドルームの近くに貴重品を入れるロック付きセーフティーボックスはありますが、大きめなリュックや旅行カバンは入らないため基本的にベッドルームの中や周辺に置くことになります。
セキュリティが心配な方はフロントで預かってもらうのも手だと思います。その場合はフロントの営業時間外だと取り出せない点に注意して下さい。
朝は共用ダイニングでお茶漬けが食べられる
5Fには宿泊者が共用で使えるキッチンとダイニングルームがあります。
席数も多く電源なども確保されているためパソコン作業などに使いやすかったです。
キッチンの冷蔵庫、電子レンジ、オーブントースター、電子ケトル、食器、調理器具、調味料などは自由に使えます。使用したものは自分で洗い物まで行うのがルールです。
朝は無料でお茶漬けが食べられます。炊飯器が置かれていてご飯を自分でよそって食べるスタイル。安いドミトリーなので素泊まりのつもりで予約していたため、簡易的な朝食が付いてくるのは嬉しい誤算でした。
水回りも清潔かつ広めで使いやすい
シャワールームは全部で8つ。
女性用と男性用、男女兼用に別れているので注意。
シャワールームの間に更衣室があります。
備え付けのシャンプーとボディーソープは無料で使えます。水圧も強めで特に問題なし。
足元には珪藻土バスマットと洗濯カゴが設置されています。足元にも髪の毛一つ落ちておらずきちんと清掃されているようでした。
1部屋のみ浴槽付きのバスルームが用意されていました。湯船に使ってゆっくりお風呂に入りたい方には嬉しいです。
水回りも新品同様にピカピカです。利用者によってはマナーを守らず汚すこともありますが、写真を撮っている最中も清掃が入っていました。施設を綺麗に保とうとする気持ちが伝わってきます。
ヘアドライヤーも無料で使えます。ベッドルームから離れているので騒音はあまり気になりません。

福岡・博多にある格安ホステル「THE GATE hostel」をご紹介しました。最寄り駅からは若干離れていますが、繁華街から少し離れているため静かに過ごせる場所です。受付のスタッフのかたが気さくに話しかけてくれて、旅のいい思い出になりました。
どの設備も清掃が行き届いていて、女性でも安心して利用できると思います。福岡の博多周辺で安いホステルを探している方はオススメです。
